Catching Up On All Our Recent Visits

Nana and Papa came to visit the weekend of March 5th. Carson got to show them all the new tricks he’s learned since Christmas. He also went on his first wine tasting trip! We had never done any wine tasting in Lodi, so we hit a couple of wineries. If you ever happen to be in the area, we really liked Klinker Brick! They do zins and only have 3. All 3 were really good! We also hit d’Art. We weren’t so keen on their reds, but they had a pretty good Pinot Grigio and a pretty good Port. Here are a couple of pictures of Nana and Papa with Carson.

         

         

The following weekend (March 12th), we were going to meet Amber and Alicia in San Francisco to go to the aquarium at Pier 39, but Alicia had the flu…yuck!! So we are rescheduling that trip hopefully sometime in April. We did meet up with Amber for brunch in Pleasanton at the Rising Loafer…yummy! It was a nice day so we took a quick stroll through Farmer’s Market too. They have a nice Farmer’s Market in Pleasanton!! We didn’t buy anything because we were headed to a camera shop in Walnut Creek, but we’ll have to go back sometime this spring or summer to check it out again.

We were going to go to dinner at Texas Roadhouse with Carrie and their friends to celebrate Carrie’s birthday, but Carson was not feeling well…and unfortunately this was the start of a cold (and nasty cough) that he STILL has! So we still need to meet up with Carrie and see their new addition once Carson (and now Steve) are both healthy again!

This weekend (March 19th) Kaci and Barb came down from the Chico area to see Carson. He still wasn’t feeling 100%, but was pretty good considering how nasty his cough sounds. It was great to see them both. I think we decided it had been around 5 years since we had seen eachother!! Way too long! It’s crazy how fast time goes. So we are definitely going to try to get together again before another 5 years go by!

So this past Tuesday Carson took the marathon nap…5 hours!!! Daycare told me he slept from 7am till noon! I’m glad they didn’t tell me that till the next morning, or I would have been afraid he wasn’t going to sleep Tuesday night, but he DID sleep though the night. And has been for the most part. This weekend he’s been waking up at 4:30ish for whatever reason, but he went back to sleep for a couple of hours.

He’s sitting up fairly well by himself now…occasionally he tips one direction or the other and can’t catch his balance. A lot of this has to do with whether or not he really “wants” to be sitting.

Steve got this shirt for him…it doesn’t make sense to most people because it’s partly computer humor, but it says “I TCP/IP but mostly IP”. 

I think that get’s us mostly caught up. Here’s a picture of him in his “jump jump”. He’s really into all the toys on it now and he stares at them so intently trying to figure out how they work as he’s playing with them.
